Policies of Inclusion
Membership
First Mennonite Church welcomes into membership all people who confess Jesus Christ as Lord
and Savior, who are committed to following Mennonite principles, and who are prepared to share
in the life and work of the congregation, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity or
gender expression and including those in relationships of fidelity.
Marriage
First Mennonite Church affirms the biblical marriage covenant to apply to two people in a

the partners, and offers to such unions and their families the pastoral care, church ceremonies, and
accountability by which the church supports marriage covenants and family life.
Ministry
First Mennonite Church fully accepts the gifts of ministry and leadership offered by LGBTQ

Community Outreach
Trease Road Child Care Center was opened on April 12, 1982 by a group of women from First Mennonite Church. They felt there was a need for quality child care services in the Wadsworth community. Since that time, TRCCC has served hundreds of children and has gained an outstanding reputation in the Wadsworth community.
MENWA Apartments is a seventy unit non-profit housing agency chartered by the state of Ohio and supported by the Federal Agency for Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These apartments are reserved for the use of senior citizens age 62 and older and are located at 531 High Street, Wadsworth, OH, 44281.
Apartments are one and two bedroom in size. A large common room and several conversation areas allow for as much interaction as an individual desires. Frequent programs, such as movies, "pot-luck" dinners, sing-alongs and many others make Menwa a true community. There is ample parking for residents' cars, and the Medina County Senior Van makes regular stops for trips to shopping and medical facilities.
All apartments were completely renovated in 2016. Menwa is managed by the Medina Metropolitan Housing Authority.
The unusual name, Menwa, is a combination of Mennonite and Wadsworth.
